LPPF® care

Caring for LPPF®

LPPF® is low-maintenance by design — no inspections required. A little care in the first days and regular hand washing keep it crystal clear for years.

The first days
1
First 24 hours
Let it cure
The coating can stay slightly soft for up to 24 hours. Avoid touching, washing or covering the protected panels.
2
First 2 weeks
Hold off on washing
Give LPPF® two weeks to fully harden before its first wash.
3
First wash
Hand wash only
Use a pH-neutral car soap and soft microfiber — see the wash steps below.
4
Ongoing
Wash regularly
Wash monthly to keep contaminants from sitting on the surface.
Do
  • Hand wash with a pH-neutral car soap
  • Use clean microfiber mitts and drying towels
  • Rinse off bird droppings, bugs and tree sap promptly
  • Let light scratches heal on their own
Don’t
  • Touch or cover the coating in the first 24 hours
  • Use abrasive compounds or polishes
  • Apply wax — it dulls gloss and water beading
  • Use automatic car washes with brushes
  • Try to fix deeper damage yourself — LPPF® is repairable
Light scratch? Let it heal.

LPPF®’s reversible hydrogen bonds re-form across light scratches on their own. Light swirls and scratches disappear with heat.

How self-healing works →
Deeper damage? It’s repairable.

It won’t heal on its own and isn’t covered by the warranty, but LPPF® is 100% repairable. Don’t try to fix it yourself.

Ceramic care

Caring for ceramic

Your 5-Year or 8-Year ceramic coating keeps water beading and gloss high with simple, gentle washing.

1
First 2 hours
Before driving
Give the coating 2 hours before you drive away.
2
First 24 hours
Keep it dry
Avoid rain, sprinklers and washing for 24 hours while the coating cures.
3
First wash
Hand wash only
After 2 weeks, hand wash with a pH-neutral soap — see the wash steps below.
4
Ongoing
Wash regularly
Wash monthly to keep the surface slick and beading.
Do
  • Hand wash with a pH-neutral car soap
  • Dry with a soft microfiber towel or air blower
  • Rinse off bird droppings, bugs and sap promptly
  • Wash out of direct sun when you can
Don’t
  • Let it get wet during the initial cure
  • Apply wax — it dulls gloss and water beading
  • Use abrasive compounds or polishes
  • Use dish soap or harsh degreasers
  • Let hard-water spots dry on the surface
Beading slowing down?

Road film can build up and mask the coating. A careful hand wash usually brings the beading back.

Paint, metal & wheels

Ceramic protects more than paint — give coated wheels and trim the same gentle wash.

LPPF® & ceramic

The 5-step hand wash.

The same gentle routine works for both finishes.

01
Rinse
Pre-rinse the whole vehicle to knock off loose dirt and grit.
02
Two buckets
One bucket of pH-neutral soapy water, one of clean rinse water for your mitt.
03
Top down
Wash with a microfiber mitt from the roof down, rinsing the mitt often.
04
Rinse again
Rinse thoroughly so no soap dries on the surface.
05
Dry gently
Pat or blot dry with a clean microfiber towel, or use an air blower.
